Dr Archer has identified many carnivorous kangaroo fossils so I'm surprised that he didn't consider this a carnivore/omnivore jaw - look at the slicing edges to the leading teeth, about where our incisors are.
The disappearance of really large carnivores as Oz dried in the millennia before humans is a good metaphor for the unsustainability of living at the top of the food/resource chain.
